Gagosian empire extends to Rome

A new office opens in the Palazzo Borghese

US dealer Larry Gagosian has recently opened a 60 square-metre office in the Palazzo Borghese in central Rome which occasionally doubles up as an exhibition space. Currently on show in the Roman venue is Ed Ruscha: new drawings (until 6 August) to coincide with the US artist’s installation in the US pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale. A spokesperson for the Rome office said: “We do not however have plans for regular exhibitions”. The Gagosian gallery is also funding a new catalogue raisonné of “Cy Twombly: works on paper”, whose author, Nicola Del Roscio, lives in Rome. The catalogue is scheduled to be published in 18 months time.
