A last chance to see Rothko in his entirety before the exhibition ends is also a first for Paris, no other retrospective of his work has been held in France. The original exhibition was organized by the National Gallery in Washington, with a viewing at the Whitney Museum in New York, but the Musée d’Art Moderne has adapted the show for Paris, with specific loans of large, dark and smoky Rothko works from the Tate Gallery in London.
